The Magic Behind the Ruby

Rubies have been considered magical stones for a number of reasons, some of these are that they have the properties of fire and emotion. The ruby is designated as the birth stone for the month of July and is also designated as the anniversary stone for the fifteenth and fortieth years of marriage.

These precious gemstones have been mined for over two thousand and five hundred years. There are many different places that you can find them today. These locations include: Thailand, Kenya, Burma, India, Tanzania, Cambodia, Kenya, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the United States, Tanzania, and Afghanistan. These stones are one of the most coveted gems throughout history and were thought to be the Lord of the gems in Hindu culture. It is thought that the internal and eternal flame of the gemstone is what causes the fiery glow.

There are always those who are selling loose rubies. These stones are considered to be a symbol of love when given as a gift so they are a great choice for certain holidays like Valentine’s Day. Further the beauty of a high quality ruby is not comparable to anything else as it is truly magnificent. One great thing about buying these stones loose is that it saves you a ton of money and you can have them set in any way that you would like and truly make them the piece of jewelry that you have always wanted.

Some things that you should keep in mind when looking for the stone is that you will want to be able to assess the value and figure out if you are truly getting a good deal or if you are being ripped off. One of the things that you should know is that rubies do come in a variety of shades and colors ranging from a deep purplish red to a orange red. Their name comes from the Latin word ruber meaning red color. They are very hard and solid stones that are easy to care for since it is hard to damage them.

There are few natural stones that are sold today so most of them are synthetic. If you are looking for a natural stone you will want to make sure that you are dealing with a reputable jeweler or company and make sure to follow up with someone to appraise the stone within your time period where you can still return it. This is a good idea to keep in mind if you are looking into buying and/or selling loose rubies. Plus you will expect to pay a lot if looking for natural stones as they are quite expensive.
