Buy Rubies Online

Buy Rubies OnlineIf you want to buy rubies online here are a few useful tips that can help to ensure you get what you want and at the right price.

Firstly it is a good idea to have some understanding of rubies, the different types, colors and qualities available. There is plenty of information all about rubies on this website to help you with this.

Next decide what you want in the way of ruby jewelery. Is it a ring? A pair of earrings? Or perhaps a pendant or necklace. Decide on the type of setting you would like, the precious metal you want such as gold or platinum or perhaps some other precious metal, and what quality of course, 10 karat gold or 22 karat for example.

You will have to work within a budget so it is good to have that set so you do not go over budget if a salesperson is particularly convincing!

Then you can start browsing. There are literally hundreds of websites, many from existing jewelers, that promote and sell their rubies, in all shapes and sizes and qualities. So there is plenty of rubies on line available.

When you find the ruby you like you will need to check over the seller or dealer. Do they have a shop or store somewhere? Is there a physical address one can go to. If it is close by that is ideal as you can then pay a visit and see for yourself what sort of rubies they have. If not you will need to ensure they have:

A contact phone number with a real human on the other end. An email address that does not bounce and does get answered within a day or so by a human. A fax number. A physical address and not just a box number. Also are they a member of a jewelers association or gemologists association? Are they a member of the better Busienss Bureau. You can look up their listing if so. You can also look up to see who the website is registered to and for how long. All these checks go a long way to ensuring that you are dealing with a bona fide ruby dealer.

Next look at the website. Is there a privacy policy. What are the terms and conditions of sale? It is best to actually read this. What is the returns policy. What if you buy a ruby online and it is not what you wanted or not as described when you get it home?

All these points are important and can save you a lot of heart ache and unnecessary expense if proper research is done and these points are kept in mind when you buy rubies online.
